"What we found when we finally arrived at the abbey was a picturesque, 16th-century stone farmhouse, which was remarkably modern and comfortable inside and had a large pool outside. It was great.
There were seven roomy bedrooms, each with its own large bath. A gift basket in the living room held wine and olive oil produced on the estate. The kitchen was clean and well furnished, and the dining room table was large enough to seat all 13 of us at once.
More than that, the tantalizing aroma of food greeted us as we arrived at the front door. Signora Imola was busy preparing a full Tuscan dinner for our first meal in the villa. It was one of the two dinners we had arranged to have Imola cook for us - easily the most delicious meals we had in a land known for wonderful food.
It was a magical week - far better than we had imagined it would be. One person in our party made the observation that if couples knew that they had a villa experience in Tuscany waiting for them, more marriages might last 50 years."

"This year, the Abbey of Spineto will once again host a full calendar of activities: numerous students will be attending an acting class lead, this year, by Julie Stanzak of the Pina Bausch Company under the artistic diection of maria Claudia Massari.
'To be able to work in an environment like this one is both an inspiration and a challange. Rising to the grandeur of these environs, silently observing our work, the stone, air and nature seem as if to wait for us to reach our best efforts.'"
